Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud may reportedly need to lower his wage demands in order to sign for a Ligue 1 club in the summer.

Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud has reportedly been left to consider taking a wage cut in order to complete a transfer to a Ligue 1 club.

Giroud has just over three months remaining on his deal at Stamford Bridge, and it remains unclear whether the France international will pen a one-year contract extension.

The 32-year-old is being linked with a return to his homeland, with both of Lyon and Marseille said to hold an interest in the World Cup winner.

However, according to Le10Sport, neither club would be prepared to meet Giroud's current terms of around £85,000 per week.

Giroud has acknowledged that he has been left frustrated by his game-time this season, with just 15 starts and 18 substitute outings being handed to him by head coach Maurizio Sarri.
