Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater is wanted by former club Leicester City in a cut-price £20m deal, according to a report.

Leicester City are reportedly prepared to stump up £20m to bring Danny Drinkwater back to the King Power Stadium following his ill-fated spell with Chelsea.

The 28-year-old's career in West London has failed to take off in his year at the club, having been restricted to just five Premier League starts in his maiden campaign.

Chelsea are now supposedly willing to take a £15m cut on the amount they paid to Leicester for the midfielder 13 months ago, with TEAMtalk reporting that the Foxes are ready to step forward with a cut-price offer.

Following the recent arrival of Jorginho at Stamford Bridge, the Blues are keen to offload Drinkwater, but Leicester could face competition from fellow Premier League side West Ham United.

The report also suggests that a loan switch has yet to have been ruled out by Chelsea if a fee cannot be agreed.
