Jose Mourinho 'plots early Edinson Cavani, Luke Shaw swoop'

Jose Mourinho is plotting to bring Edinson Cavani and Luke Shaw to Chelsea before the World Cup kicks off in Brazil, according to a report.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is looking secure the services of both Luke Shaw and Edinson Cavani before the start of this summer's World Cup, according to a report.

The Portuguese boss is said to be targeting Southampton full-back Shaw and Paris Saint-Germain's Uruguayan forward as his only major signings of the summer, The Mirror claims.

It is believed that Cavani is unhappy at being largely used as a winger by PSG and his agent is talking to clubs with a view to a possible move that could exceed the £50m fee paid for Fernando Torres in 2011.

The report suggests that a double swoop would be funded by offloading strikers Romelu Lukaku and Demba Ba.

Lukaku is currently on a season-long loan at Everton, having spent last season at West Bromwich Albion.
