Norwich City are reportedly closing in on the signing of Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour on a season-long loan switch for the 2021-22 Premier League campaign.

Norwich City have reportedly progressed in their attempts to sign Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old has struggled for game time at Stamford Bridge since making his first-team debut in 2019, and is believed to be keen on a move away from the Blues in search of regular Premier League action.

Gilmour earned his first senior start for Scotland against England in this summer's Euro 2020 tournament and produced a man-of-the-match display at Wembley.

According to Sky Sports News, the youngster has agreed to join the Canaries for the 2021-22 campaign, and is expected to complete his medical later this week.

The Chelsea midfielder had to miss Scotland's final group game against Croatia after testing positive for coronavirus, therefore he will complete his medical after this Thursday when his 10-day isolation is finished.

Gilmour has not managed to score his first Chelsea goal yet after making 22 appearances since Frank Lampard handed him his debut.
