Shanghai Shenhua have confirmed that they are currently in talks with Didier Drogba over joining the Chinese Super League club on a free transfer.
The Ivorian announced yesterday that he will be leaving Stamford Bridge this summer after eight years with the London club.
The 34-year-old was expected to depart the Blues at the end of the season due to the expiration of his current deal, with Shenhua being touted as a possible destination.
"As of now, Shenhua's negotiations with Drogba are continuing just as planned," Shenhua's owner Zhu Jun told the Oriental Sports Daily.
Drogba's final game for Chelsea was the club's historic Champions League victory over Bayern Munich.
