Crystal Palace duo Jason Puncheon, James McArthur out for "a long period"

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew reveals that both Jason Puncheon and James McArthur are facing extended periods on the sidelines with hamstring and ankle injuries.

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has revealed that both Jason Puncheon and James McArthur are facing an extended period on the sidelines.

Pardew confirmed the blow during a press conference on Thursday, with Puncheon nursing a hamstring problem and McArthur an ankle injury.

"I have some disappointing news - McArthur and Puncheon are out for a long period. Puncheon and McArthur have both been having fabulous seasons for us, so that's a significant blow," he told reporters.

Yohan Cabaye is expected to return for Saturday's trip to Swansea City, however, as Palace attempt to recover from a poor run of form.

January signing Emmanuel Adebayor could also start in Wales after making his debut off the bench in the 2-1 defeat against Bournemouth on Tuesday night.
