Crystal Palace assistant manager Keith Millen has claimed that Glenn Murray will not be loaned out to a Championship club.
The signings of Yaya Sanogo and Shola Ameobi last month has increased the competition for attacking places in the Palace squad, but Murray is set to remain at Selhurst Park, despite reported interest from Bournemouth.
"The manager has spoken to him and told Glenn that he is in his plans," Millen is quoted as saying by the South London Press. "He is a different striker to what we've got, especially with Yaya Sanogo out. He's a big option for us.
"Glenn gets frustrated because he wants to play football but he just has to be patient. I'm sure he'll play a part before the end of the season."
Murray scored eight goals in 18 games on loan at Reading earlier this season.
