England will not sell out Euro 2012 tickets

England fans will not take their full allocation of tickets for this summer's Euro 2012 because of the high logistical costs surrounding the tournament.

England fans are very unlikely to take their full allocation of tickets for this summer's Euro 2012 tournament.

Organisers had granted England 15 percent of seats in the 52,518-seater Donbass Arena for the match against France in Donetsk on June 11.

However, the high expense of travel to and around host countries Poland and the Ukraine, as well as the lack of low-cost hotel accommodation has led to less than half of the 7,800 tickets being sold.

Football Supporters Federation spokesman Kevin Miles told The Mirror: "Even the fans who regularly travel are not bothering.

"The practical difficulties of getting there, travelling between the venues, the high cost of accommodation and the economic situation have combined to hit ticket sales.

"The first game, France v England in Donetsk, is the one they are having real problems selling tickets for. The Sweden game is better because that is on a Friday, but overall there will be fewer England fans than at any Euro tournament in recent history."

Harry Redknapp is the favourite to be in charge of the Three Lions at the tournament, although fellow candidate Roy Hodgson has admitted that he would accept an offer from the FA.
