England announce pre-Euro 2016 friendlies against Turkey, Australia, Portugal

England announce friendlies against Turkey, Australia and Portugal as part of their pre-Euro 2016 preparations.

The Football Association has announced that England will play Turkey, Australia and Portugal in friendlies as preparation for this summer's European Championships.

The Three Lions will face Turkey at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium on Sunday, May 22, five days before they take on Australia at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland.

England will round off their Euro 2016 preparations with a friendly against Portugal at Wembley on Thursday, June 2.

England manager Roy Hodgson said: "I'm happy that we have been able to secure three challenging opponents that will help us prepare for the tournament.

"Since the draw in Paris last December, The FA has worked hard to put together a programme of games around the country and we're looking forward to playing in the north-west and north-east before the final home game at Wembley."

The tournament will begin in France on June 10.
