Southampton captain Adam Lallana will not feel the pressure of performing on the global stage for England in the World Cup, according to Poole Town defender Jamie Whisken.
Whisken, who is the 26-year-old's best friend, has insisted that the midfielder is "ready" to start for Roy Hodgson's side in their Group D opener against Italy in Manaus on Saturday.
Lallana earned a call-up to the 23-man squad following an impressive season, which resulted in his first England cap in November.
Whisken told the Daily Echo: "I think his first game at Wembley fazed him a little bit, you could tell he was nervous but I haven't seen that in him personally or on the pitch since then. He is ready."
Meanwhile, reports have claimed that Lallana wants a move to Liverpool this summer.
