Everton manager David Moyes has called for Marouane Fellaini to follow the example set by Lionel Messi in heated situations on the pitch.
Felliani has missed the Toffees' last three Premier League games through suspension after being found guilty of headbutting Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross.
Moyes believes that Fellaini must keep a cool head and show the same calm demeanour as Messi if he is to be considered a top player.
He told the Daily Star: "The best person you have to look at is Lionel Messi. Every person targets him, they'll do everything.
"But all he ever does is get up and get on with it. That's the sign of a top player. It says to people, 'Whatever you do, it doesn't affect me'.
"I tell Felli that you just have to get on with it. If I was playing against Felli, I'd try and wind him up."
The Belgian midfielder has scored eight league goals in 15 appearances so far this season and is back in the squad for tonight's match against Newcastle United.
