Everton forward Steven Naismith has stated that the club are "up for the fight" ahead of the battle for the Champions League places this coming term.
The Toffees missed out on fourth last season as Arsenal eventually finished seven points ahead of them.
However, speaking to the Liverpool Echo ahead of the new campaign, the Scot has stated that the squad are ready to push on for the coveted fourth spot.
He said: "We are up for the fight. With the signings we have made we are showing the ambition we have got.
"We came really close last season and were unlucky not to get into the top four. What the manager (Roberto Martinez) has made clear is that football is a squad game now. And every player needs to be ready when he calls on us because you are expected to deliver."
Everton have signed Romelu Lukaku, Gareth Barry, Peter Henen and Muhamed Besic so far this summer.
