Phil Neville has said that he won't move to centre-back despite Everton's defensive crisis.
The Toffees are without Phil Jagielka, Tony Hibbert, Seamus Coleman and Sylvain Distin ahead of their Premier League clash with Aston Villa on Saturday.
When asked if he would be volunteering for centre-back, Neville said: "I've played there before, but no, not really.
"We probably are down to the bare bones. Hibbert, who could have played there, is out as well.
"It's the way of the world at Everton. It's been like that in the past. But somehow the gaffer always manages to make sure we get results."
Everton are currently 11th in the league with 24 goals from 20 games.
