Report: James McCarthy wants Everton exit

Everton midfielder James McCarthy is reportedly hoping to secure a move away from Goodison Park this summer.

James McCarthy has reportedly informed Everton that he is keen to leave the club this summer.

The midfielder, who joined the Toffees in 2013, is thought to have been disappointed by the lack of a new contract offer, despite the fact that a number of his teammates have agreed to fresh terms in the last few months.

However, he has also been angered by the recent arrival of Tom Cleverley from Manchester United, according to Goal.com.

England midfielder Cleverley is reportedly going to be one of the best-paid players at Goodison Park and also plays in the same position as McCarthy.

As a result, the Irish midfielder, who is said to be one of the lowest earners at Everton, has opted to move on.
