Roma sporting director Franco Baldini has revealed that a deal for Fulham to sign goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg is close to being finalised.
Stekelenburg had been a long-term target for the Cottagers, who now appear poised to land the 30-year-old for a transfer fee of just over £4m.
"I went to London for the sale of Stekelenburg at Fulham," Baldini told Corriere dello Sport.
"There were questions to be answered, but I closed a deal subject to the usual conditions."
Stekelenburg has been capped 54 times at senior international level.
