Toni Kroos: 'Germany were outstanding'

Germany's Toni Kroos believes that Tuesday's 7-1 blitz of Brazil was the best team performance that he has been a part of at international level.

Germany midfielder Toni Kroos has claimed that Tuesday's 7-1 thrashing of Brazil was the "best team performance" that he has been involved in with the national side.

Kroos scored twice for Die Mannschaft in Belo Horizonte as they romped through to the World Cup final at the expense of the host nation.

"It was an impressive performance. It's the best team performance for Germany I've been involved in," he told FIFA.com. "Had someone had said we'd have won 7-1 I wouldn't have believed them, but I thought we were outstanding, that's all I can say.

"We're here to become world champions, we're happy and relieved to go through – but there's still one game to go. No one has won the World Cup in a semi-final."

Germany will face either Argentina or the Netherlands in Sunday's final.
