The 26-year-old has agreed a three-year contract with the Terriers as he seeks regular first-team football.
Gerrard has not appeared for Cardiff City since he played in the club's League Cup final defeat to Liverpool, and he had been left out of Cardiff's pre-season tour.
Anthony is the cousin of Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.
