Italy boss Antonio Conte has suggested that Mario Balotelli may never play for his country again due to his recent lack of form.
The controversial striker has returned to AC Milan on loan following a poor start to his Liverpool career.
The 25-year-old scored four goals in all competitions last season and was not part of the Reds' pre-season tour in the summer.
When asked by reporters if he felt that Balotelli would represent his country again, Conte said: "Honestly, I don't know. It's up to him."
The striker, who last played for Italy at the 2014 World Cup, has 33 caps to his name.
