Arturo Vidal signs Juventus deal

Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal draws a line under the speculation regarding his future by signing a new contract at the club extending his stay until 2017.

Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal has drawn a line under the speculation regarding his future by extending his contract with the Bianconeri until 2017.

The Chile international has helped the Italian giants to back-to-back Scudetti in Serie A, prompting reported interest from a host of clubs across Europe - including Manchester City and Chelsea.

However, the 26-year-old has put pen to paper on a fresh deal at the Turin-based outfit which has tied him to the club for a further four years.

A club statement read: "Juventus are pleased to announce that Arturo Vidal has today put pen to paper on an extended contract which keeps him with the club until 2017.

"Since joining from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2011, the midfielder's sensational performances have enabled him to become a firm fan favourite and he's provided the driving force behind back-to-back Scudetto and Supercoppa triumphs.

"Vidal's influence on the side is clear for all to see. Across a total of 100 appearances in all competitions, he has struck on 32 occasions, becoming the most prolific player of Antonio Conte's era."

Vidal has hit 10 goals in 17 domestic and Champions League appearances for Antonio Conte's men this season.
