Los Angeles Galaxy held to 1-1 draw by Houston Dynamo

Los Angeles Galaxy fail to take their chances in a 1-1 draw with Houston Dynamo in the MLS.

Los Angeles Galaxy have been held to a 1-1 draw by the Houston Dynamo in the MLS today.

Robbie Keane got the home side off to a dream start as Jose Villarreal slipped him through on goal, and he rounded the keeper before slotting the ball into the net.

However, Houston equalised less than 10 minutes later as Nathan Sturgis stooped low to head in David Horst's cross at the back post.

The visitors then almost took the lead, but Ricardo Clark failed to find the target with a header from a few yards out.

Chances were harder to come by in a quiet second half, but the Galaxy stepped up their search for a winner towards the end and went close through Juninho, who flashed a shot inches past the post, and Keane, who forced the keeper into an acrobatic save.

Neither side could find a winner, though, and had to settle for a point.
