An emotional Leeds United crushed Nottingham Forest by four goals at the City Ground this evening.
Whites fans had planned to sing from the 11th minute for 11 minutes in recognition of the number the late Gary Speed wore during an eight-year spell at Elland Road.
The chants for the former midfielder started two minutes early however, and continued for most of the first half.
This rousing support appeared to work as Leeds took the lead in the 18th minute. Adam Clayton stole the ball from Luke Chambers before playing through Robert Snodgrasss who proceeded to smash home.
Jonny Howson doubled the lead on the stroke of half time with a dipping volley, before Luciano Becchio made it three four minutes into the second period.
Clayton completed the rout midway through the half before Forest's night was made worse when Andy Reid saw red ten minutes from time.
Simon Grayson's side remain fifth while Forest's 11th loss of the season sees them drop into the relegation places.
