Leicester City forward Islam Slimani is reportedly keen to remain in the Premier League should he leave the King Power Stadium this summer.

Leicester City have reportedly indicated that forward Islam Slimani will not be allowed to leave for a cut-price fee this summer.

With the Foxes said to be keen on signing Kelechi Iheanacho from Manchester City, it leaves club-record signing Slimani facing the prospect of a season on the bench at the King Power Stadium.

Neither Leicester nor Slimani want that situation to materialise, with the East Midlands outfit aiming to free up space on their wage bill and the Algerian forward keen on regular first-team football.

However, according to The Mirror, Leicester are currently not prepared to make a significant loss on a player who cost them £29m last summer, despite only 13 starts being made in the Premier League.

It has been suggested that Newcastle United hold an interest in the 29-year-old, but they are currently unwilling to meet Leicester's valuation of the forward.

Slimani is allegedly keen on remaining in English football next season.
