Nigel Pearson will bid for West Ham United's Stewart Downing as he rebuilds his Leicester City squad ahead of next season, according to reports.
The 30-ear-old England international is understood to have been transfer listed by the Hammers.
He had been linked with a move to Sunderland, but the Foxes are ready to beat their Premier League rivals with a higher offer, reports The Telegraph.
However, Leicester also face competition from Downing's former club Middlesbrough, who want to bring the midfielder back to Teesside, the newspaper adds.
Downing scored six goals and amassed eight assists for West Ham last season as they finished 12th in the Premier League.
