Former Liverpool defender Stephane Henchoz believes that the support of the Kop at Anfield will inspire the Reds in their bid for Champions League qualification.
Brendan Rodgers's side face Basel in their final group match this evening, needing a win to progress into the last-16 stage of the competition.
Henchoz, who played 36 European matches for the Merseyside outfit between 2001 and 2005, says that Liverpool will make life tough for their Swiss opponents.
"If you haven't scored after around 25 minutes you feel the crowd is getting impatient and it makes your life harder, but on Tuesday night the crowd will definitely be the 12th man for Liverpool," he told the club's official website.
"I think it will be very difficult for Basel. They have a young team and their players will definitely not have experienced an atmosphere like they will on Tuesday night.
"I think Liverpool will start very strong with a fast pace and it will be an electric atmosphere at Anfield."
Liverpool lost 1-0 when the sides last met at the beginning of October.
