Hearts manager John McGlynn remains upbeat despite watching his side lose 1-0 to Liverpool in the Europa League playoffs.

Brendan Rodgers's side came away from Tynecastle with a vital away goal after Andy Webster put through his own net, but the Jambos boss insists that his team deserved at least a draw.

"I think it's hard on us to lose that game," he told BBC Sport. "I thought we deserved a draw at least.

"I think we've got a lot of positives to take. You could see there's a lot of millions of pounds of players on that park.

"I feel gutted for the players, they put so much into it. I don't think they deserved that."

McGlynn went on to say that he believes the tie is still "alive" despite Hearts having to travel to Anfield for next Thursday's second leg.
