Preview: FA Cup - Liverpool vs. Oldham Athletic

Steven Gerrard is expected to start against Oldham Athletic as the Liverpool captain steps up his recovery from injury.

The first club to be handed the opportunity of becoming FA Cup giantkillers in round three of the FA Cup is League One's Oldham Athletic.

The Latics will make the trip to Anfield on Friday to take on Liverpool armed with a squad that has very little top-flight experience.

Former Blackburn Rovers striker Shefki Kuqi is expected to lead their line, while manager Paul Dickov is no stranger to these occasions from his time with Manchester City.

Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard is likely to start on the bench for the Reds as Kenny Dalglish has admitted that he has no intention to rush the England international back into the fold following an ankle infection.

Doni, Sebastian Coates and Raheem Sterling could also feature from the start.

Current form:

Liverpool: WWDDWL
Oldham: LWDLWD

Possible lineups:

Liverpool: Doni; Kelly, Carragher, Coates, Aureilo; Sterling, Shelvey, Spearing, Maxi; Bellamy, Kuyt

Oldham: Cisak; Lee, Diamond, Clarke, Black; Taylor, Adeyemi, Furman, Morais; Simpson; Kuqi

Sports Mole says: 3-0
