Jordan Henderson 'broke news of Brendan Rodgers's sacking to teammates'

Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson reportedly broke the news of Brendan Rodgers's sacking to the rest of the squad.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson broke the news of Brendan Rodgers's sacking to his teammates on Sunday afternoon, according to The Mirror.

The Northern Irishman was relieved of his duties just hours after the Merseyside derby, following a trans-Atlantic phone call from Fenway Sports Group (FSG) president Mike Gordon.

Henderson, who was the first player to be informed of the decision, was then asked to break the news to the rest of the squad.

Although the players were not aware that the decision was imminent, it has been reported that they were not shocked after weeks of speculation.

The club are now believed to be in advanced talks with Jurgen Klopp, and are aiming to make an announcement by the end of the week.
