Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp hints that he is considering whether to play Jordan Henderson or Andrew Robertson in central defence over the coming weeks.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has not ruled out the possibility of Jordan Henderson or Andrew Robertson lining up in the centre of defence.

After injuries to Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Fabinho, England international Joe Gomez remains as the only senior centre-back available for selection.

Although Rhys Williams may get the nod against West Ham United on Saturday evening, Klopp has hinted that Henderson or Robertson could switch from their usual positions, making a comparison to former player Javier Mascherano.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Klopp said: "We have still, obviously, other options like Hendo or Gini (Georginio Wijnaldum) or James (Milner) - or Robbo can play centre-half as well.

"They are all not smaller than Mascherano, for example, and he played pretty well in that position. So yes we have obviously still one or two options and one of them, we will choose. Which one, you have to switch on the television tomorrow night."

Nathaniel Phillips, who is ineligible for the Champions League, is another option for Klopp against the Hammers.
