Thiago Silva backs Fabinho to shine in Premier League with Liverpool

Paris Saint-Germain and Brazil defender Thiago Silva expects Fabinho to make a big impact in the Premier League with Liverpool.

Thiago Silva has described Brazil teammate Fabinho as a 'smart and technical player' who has the capabilities to quickly adapt to the Premier League with Liverpool.

The Reds announced earlier this week that a deal has been agreed to sign the 24-year-old from Monaco, where he was used as both a right-back and central midfielder.

Fabinho, left out of Brazil's squad for next month's World Cup, has been tipped by Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Silva to make a big impact in English football with Liverpool.

Speaking at Brazil's training camp in London, Silva told reporters: "He is really smart, a really technical player and I am sure he will get adapted to the Premier League as soon as he arrives here.

"He changed his position in Monaco. He was a right-back and now he is a midfielder. I don't know how Liverpool are thinking about using him, but I am sure they can use him in both."

Liverpool are rumoured to have handed over close to £44m to sign Fluminense academy product Fabinho.
