Juventus 'lining up £155m Philippe Coutinho bid'

Italian champions Juventus reportedly join Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho.

Juventus have reportedly become the latest club to enter the race for Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho.

The 25-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Barcelona during the summer transfer window, but the Spanish giants failed with three separate approaches for the Brazilian as Liverpool held firm.

Barca are still understood to be interested in Coutinho, but they could now face competition from Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, the latter of whom have emerged as the latest club to hold an interest.

Don Balon claims that the Italian champions are willing to pay up to £155m to prise the midfielder away from Anfield as they bid to strengthen their squad for the Champions League.

Juve have reached the final in two of the past three seasons, but have lost on both occasions and manager Massimiliano Allegri is thought to be considering a big-money signing in an attempt to push them over the line.

The Old Lady have also been linked with Coutinho's Liverpool teammate Emre Can, who is yet to sign a new deal at Anfield despite his current contract running out at the end of the season.
