Liverpool have had an £8m bid for left-back Ben Davies rejected by Swansea City, according to reports.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is understood to have made signing a new left-back a priority this summer having been forced to play Jon Flanagan out of position for much of the 2013-14 campaign.
The Merseyside outfit have been heavily linked with Sevilla's Alberto Moreno, although talks over a move for the Spaniard are thought to have broken down over the asking price.
Ryan Bertrand has also been touted as a possible signing for Rodgers, but the Northern Irishman has now made a move to sign 21-year-old Davies from his former club, according to The Telegraph.
However, an initial £8m offer has been turned down by the Swans, who are understood to be upset with Liverpool due to their pursuit of striker Wilfried Bony.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have completed the signing of winger Lazar Markovic, who finalised his move to Anfield from Benfica earlier today.
