Liverpool have reportedly made contact with the mother and agent of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot with the view to signing the Frenchman on a free transfer.
Rabiot is in the final year of his contract with PSG, and has thus far rejected the chance to pen a new deal with the French champions despite their best efforts.
Barcelona and Manchester City have both been linked with a move for the 23-year-old, who as it stands will be able to discuss terms with foreign clubs at the start of 2019.
However, according to ESPN, Jurgen Klopp is also a huge admirer of Rabiot, and the Liverpool boss has already had a phone conversation with the midfielder to discuss a potential move.
Rabiot, who famously refused to be on France's standby list for the 2018 World Cup, has made over 200 appearances for PSG since debuting during the 2012-13 season.
The midfielder has scored once in five appearances for PSG this term.
