Liverpool are open to the possibility of re-signing Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona this summer, according to a report.

Liverpool are reportedly open to the possibility of re-signing Philippe Coutinho this summer.

Coutinho scored 54 times in 201 appearances for Liverpool between 2013 and 2018 before joining Barcelona.

The 27-year-old has won back-to-back La Liga titles during his time in Spain, but has largely struggled to produce for the Catalan giants, contributing just five league goals last term.

Coutinho - currently with the Brazil squad at the Copa America - recently admitted that he could leave Barca ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.

Paris Saint-Germain have been strongly linked with a move for playmaker, with the French club's new sporting director Leonardo said to be desperate to push through a deal.

However, according to Le 10 Sport, Liverpool have not ruled out bringing Coutinho back to Anfield this summer as the Reds are yet to replace the South American.

The attacker has reportedly already rejected the chance to join Manchester United this summer out of respect for his former club.
