Liverpool are reportedly considering triggering the £28m release clause of Hoffenheim midfielder Kerem Demirbay, who has previously been linked with Arsenal.

Liverpool are reportedly considering meeting the release clause of Hoffenheim midfielder Kerem Demirbay during the January transfer window.

The Reds were linked with a bid for the 25-year-old earlier this year, when Premier League rivals Arsenal were also credited with an interest in securing his signature.

Turkish-Football reports that Liverpool are now considering rekindling their interest in the Germany international and could be willing to trigger his release clause.

Demirbay would be available for £28m should Liverpool meet that clause, while his current contract at Hoffenheim runs until 2021.

Jurgen Klopp previously worked with the midfielder when they were both at Borussia Dortmund together, and the Bundesliga leaders have also been linked with a return for Demirbay.

However, Liverpool could hold the edge in any discussions as Demirbay shares management representation with Naby Keita and Sadio Mane.
