Napoli sporting director Riccardo Bigon has revealed that the club are hoping to sit down with Liverpool to talk about turning Pepe Reina's loan move into a permanent stay.
The Spanish goalkeeper reunited with manager Rafael Benitez in Naples last summer on a season-long loan from Anfield.
Due to the arrival of Simon Mignolet, boss Brendan Rodgers is unlikely to bring Reina back to the Merseyside outfit.
"Reina is a very important player both on the field and off," Bigon told +N tv. "At the end of the season we will talk with him and Liverpool, we are interested to hold him here."
The 31-year-old has two years remaining on his current Liverpool contract.
