Pepe Reina open to Barcelona move

Pepe Reina says that he "would love" to replace the outgoing Victor Valdes at Barcelona.

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has said that he would "love" a return to former club Barcelona.

The 31-year-old, who is currently on loan at Napoli, is expected to leave Anfield next summer, while at the same time the Catalan giants will be searching for the successor to Victor Valdes.

However, the Spanish international has refused to look too far into the future, stressing that his focus is on performing well in Italy.

"I would love to return to Barcelona," he told El Mundo Deportivo. "To play at Barca is a privilege, but I imagine that my name is on a list with others.

"Barca is a top club and Victor Valdes's departure will have alerted other candidates so a return will be very difficult.

"Right now I'm not thinking about it. I was fortunate to play there once and I consider myself privileged to have done that. The important thing is that I continue to do well at Napoli."

Reina has kept five clean sheets in 14 games in Serie A this season.
