Roma boss Rudi Garcia has claimed that he is disappointed that Sergio Aguero will not be lining up for Manchester City in Wednesday's crucial Champions League clash.
The Argentine, who has struck 19 goals in 21 City games this season, limped out of Saturday's 1-0 win over Everton, with Manuel Pellegrini revealing afterwards that he is likely to miss the visit to Rome.
Victory at the Stadio Olimpico would see the Premier League champions progress to the last 16 ahead of Garcia's side and the Frenchman says it is a "shame" that the in-form Aguero will miss out.
"It's a shame," he told reporters. "Aguero is such a great player and if it's really a serious injury then that is a pity for football.
"I'd have preferred to see him at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday.
"This is one of the reasons why we coaches rotate the squad. With [Edin] Dzeko injured, Aguero was always playing and there was the risk of this happening."
The 26-year-old netted a hat-trick in last month's 3-2 win over Group E winners Bayern Munich to reinvigorate City's chances of reaching the knockout stages
