Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany admits that his side haven't been good enough after their Champions League exit.

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has admitted that his team were not good enough after their Champions League group stage exit.

Despite beating Bayern Munich 2-0 at home, the Blues are out of the competition after Napoli's 2-0 win at Villarreal. Roberto Mancini's side will now enter the Europa League.

"We got ten points but it wasn't enough," Kompany told Sky Sports News. "Fair play to Napoli they have a good team and it would be a big mistake by anyone to underestimate them.

"The season is not over for us and maybe the Europa League is a realistic goal for us. There is no shame in losing at Napoli and Munich but the draw at home to Napoli was what did us."

City next travel to Chelsea in the Premier League on Monday night.
