Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola revels in 'magnificent' 100-point season

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola praises his players for their 100-point-winning feats in the Premier League this season.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has described his side reaching the 100-point mark in the Premier League this season as a "magnificent" accomplishment.

The league champions hit the milestone figure on the final day of the season when Gabriel Jesus's late winner helped them to a 1-0 win over Southampton.

"What can I say, 100 points! We won 50 points at home and 50 away. It's massive. One hundred points is magnificent," BBC Sport quotes Guardiola as saying.

"Maybe this record will be broken but it will be difficult.

"Today was such a complicated game. It was so hard. The players suffered. Southampton are a physical team, so many people defending deep."

Southampton avoided relegation to the Championship despite the defeat to City, finishing in 17th place, three points above Swansea City directly below them.
