Manchester City winger Adam Johnson has revealed that he was pleased that today's victory over Fulham has put pressure on Manchester United in the title race.
City have now opened up a three-point advantage over United, who play Chelsea tomorrow afternoon.
"In recent weeks we've been playing Mondays and Sundays," Johnson told ESPN. "But it's nice to [play first] and put some pressure on."
Johnson also admitted that it was important to put the midweek loss to Everton behind them.
"It was important to bounce back and get a good result today," Johnson added. "We didn't perform at Everton like we know we can."
Johnson won a penalty during today's win.
