Samir Nasri and Hatem Ben Arfa miss out on Didier Deschamps's 23-man France squad to face Japan and Spain.

Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri has been left out of France's squad to face Japan and Spain.

The 25-year-old has just returned from a three-game ban, imposed by the French Football Association for his behaviour during Euro 2012, but has still not done enough to convince Didier Deschamps to select him.

Newcastle United midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa has also been omitted from the squad, while Deschamps has given call-ups to Toulouse star Moussa Sissoko and Anzhi Makhachkala's Lassana Diarra.

Gael Clichy, Laurent Koscielny, Olivier Girous, Hugo Lloris and Patrice Evra also feature in the 23-man delegate.

Squad in full:

Goalkeepers: Hugo Lloris, Steve Mandanda, Mickael Landreau

Defenders: Christophe Jallet, Mamadou Sakho, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Gael Clichy, Patrice Evra, Laurent Koscielny, Adil Rami, Mathieu Debuchy

Midfielders: Etienne Capoue, Maxime Gonalons, Blaise Matuidi, Yohan Cabaye, Lassana Diarra, Moussa Sissoko, Mathieu Valbuena, Franck Ribery, Jeremy Menez

Forwards: Karim Benzema, Olivier Giroud, Bafetimbi Gomis
