Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has insisted that summer signing Nicolas Otamendi will get his chance to play in the near future.
The 27-year-old moved to the Etihad Stadium from Valencia on August 20 for a reported £28.5m, but first-team opportunities have so far been hard to come by.
Vincent Kompany and Eliaquim Mangala so far seem to be Pellegrini's preferred partnership at the back, but the Chilean coach believes that Otamendi will force his way through.
"Maybe Otamendi hasn't worked with us as much as we would have liked but he's an experienced player and will have his chance," Pellegrini told reporters in this afternoon's press conference.
Meanwhile, Sergio Aguero has been declared fit for this weekend's match against West Ham United, but captain Vincent Kompany will miss out.
