Manuel Pellegrini "very happy" with win over Swansea City

Manuel Pellegrini is "very happy" with Manchester City's come-from-behind win over Swansea in the Premier League and hopes it is just the start of a Citizens renaissance.

Manuel Pellegrini has admitted that he is "very happy" with Manchester City's come-from-behind Premier League triumph over Swansea City on Saturday.

The Citizens won 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium as goals from Stevan Jovetic and Yaya Toure secured them just a second win in seven games in all competitions.

Pellegrini is determined that this victory is just the start of a City renaissance, and was pleased that it came with them maintaining 'absolute confidence' in a brand of football that has been questioned of late.

"Very happy because we won the game," he told reporters. "We played very well and had a lot of chances to score the third goal and we defended well. It was a difficult start because they scored with their only chance in the first half.

"We are absolutely confident the way we play and sure we are going to win the game. If we scored the third goal we could play well and not so tight. We had the chances but didn't score. The best way to score goals is to play as a team. The second goal was beautiful play.

"We have to play seven games more before the end of December and we have to fight for all of them."

The result ensured that City did not allow Chelsea to extend their eight-point lead at the top of the table.
