Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Manchester City could line up for Sunday's Premier League derby with Manchester United.

Manchester City will not have Ruben Dias or Nathan Ake at their disposal for Sunday's Manchester derby with Manchester United in the Premier League.

Dias has been ruled out for four to six weeks after suffering a hamstring injury against Peterborough United in the FA Cup, while Ake also came off injured in midweek.

Zack Steffen and Cole Palmer - neither of whom would have forced their way into the first XI here - are two more injury concerns for Pep Guardiola, whose hand will be forced at the back.

John Stones should join Aymeric Laporte in the heart of defence at the Etihad, with Kyle Walker expecting to return to the first XI at right-back while Joao Cancelo continues on the left.

Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri - the latter of whom was somehow not penalised for handball against Everton last week - were all given complete rests in midweek and should man the midfield on Sunday.

Gabriel Jesus and Jack Grealish were both fit enough to feature for 90 minutes in the cup, but Raheem Sterling will expect to displace the latter on the left, with Phil Foden operating through the middle and Riyad Mahrez retaining his spot on the right flank.

Man City possible starting lineup: Ederson; Walker, Stones, Laporte, Cancelo; Silva, Rodri, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Foden, Sterling
