Antonio Conte 'prefers to replace Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho'

Antonio Conte would allegedly prefer to replace Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho rather than take a role in the dugout at Real Madrid.

Antonio Conte has reportedly decided that his preference would be to replace Jose Mourinho at Manchester United rather than take a position in the dugout at Real Madrid.

Conte has been out of work since being sacked by Chelsea in July, but the Italian continues to be linked with two of the biggest roles in world football.

The 49-year-old was deemed to be the favourite to replace Julen Lopetegui at the Bernabeu, but according to Gazetta dello Sport, Conte would prefer to move to Old Trafford.

The report has indicated that Real president Florentino Perez may look to hand Mourinho a second spell at the club, which would leave Conte as one of the main contenders to be brought in at Old Trafford.

Mourinho's position at United allegedly remains under threat, but the Portuguese has guided the North-West giants to seven points from their last three fixtures in the Premier League.
