Lille director of football Luis Campos has no desire to join Manchester United, according to a report.

Lille director of football Luis Campos reportedly has no desire to leave his current role to join Manchester United despite the recent speculation surrounding the Portuguese.

The Red Devils are believed to have identified the 55-year-old as the ideal candidate to fill the vacant position at Old Trafford.

However, according to le10sport, there has been no contact between the two parties, and Campos does not intend to leave his role with Lille to link up with the 20-time English champions.

Jose Mourinho was allegedly keen for the Red Devils to approach Campos while he was in charge, but the club's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward was against the appointment at the time.

The former coach is credited with discovering the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Fabinho, Bernardo Silva and Anthony Martial during his time at Monaco, where he acted as sporting director between 2013 and 2016.

United, who are yet to conduct any business in the January transfer window, suffered a 2-0 defeat at Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The loss at Anfield means that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are still five points off fourth-placed Chelsea in the Premier League table.
