Manchester United bidders are informed that they have 10 days to submit new offers for the club, according to a report.

Manchester United bidders have reportedly been informed by the club's current owners that they have 10 days to submit new offers for the 20-time English champions.

Last November, the Glazers revealed that they were open to selling the Red Devils, and as it stands, two offers have been submitted by British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe and Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani.

However, the two bids are believed to be around £4.5bn, which is short of the asking price set by the Glazer family, with the Americans thought to be looking for at least £5bn.

A recent report claimed that Sheikh Jassim had emerged as the favourite to purchase the club, with the banker prepared to clear the debt at Old Trafford and also complete a full takeover of 100%.

Representatives of Sheikh Jassim will allegedly meet with senior Man United officials on Thursday, with Ratcliffe then due to travel to Old Trafford and Carrington on Friday.

According to the Daily Mail, Man United bidders have been informed that they have 10 days to submit their next offers, as the Glazers are not prepared to accept what is currently on the table.

The report claims that representatives from Sheikh Jassim and Ratcliffe will be completing full assessments of how much investment would be needed for the club's ground and training ground.

Once the tours have been completed, it is understood that the interested parties will then be asked to submit new offers to Raine Group - the US bank working for the Glazers on the sale.

While Sheikh Jassim is said to want a full takeover, Ratcliffe is only believed to be looking to take on the 69% owned by the Glazers, and the British billionaire is also not planning to wipe the debts.

The Glazer family are believed to be leaning towards selling to Sheikh Jassim, but there remains a sticking point when it comes to the valuations of the club.

The current owners are thought to be prepared to drop their asking price from £6bn to closer to £5bn, but Sheikh Jassim and Ratcliffe have thus far only signalled a desire to go to £4.5bn.

Any takeover is now allegedly unlikely to be completed before June, which would not give the prospective new owners much time to plan for the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils are expected to spend heavily this summer on a new centre-forward, with Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane and Napoli's Victor Osimhen viewed as leading targets.

Meanwhile, head coach Erik ten Hag is said to be determined to bring in another midfielder, with the club potentially reigniting their interest in Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong.
