Manchester United consider Spain boss Luis Enrique as a possible replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, according to a report.

Spain boss Luis Enrique is allegedly being considered by Manchester United as a possible replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Red Devils are believed to be preparing to change their manager, with Leicester City head coach Brendan Rodgers identified as the leading candidate for the role at Old Trafford.

However, according to the Manchester Evening News, leading figures at Man United 'are impressed' by Enrique, who has just secured Spain's position at the 2022 World Cup.

The 51-year-old started his managerial career at Barcelona B before taking charge of Roma and Celta Vigo ahead of a return to Camp Nou in 2014.

The Spaniard led the Catalan giants to two La Liga titles, three Copa del Rey crowns and the Champions League during a highly successful spell.

Enrique guided his national side to the semi-finals of Euro 2020, meanwhile, before securing the runners-up spot in the 2020-21 UEFA Nations League.

Solskjaer is expected to be in charge for Saturday's Premier League clash with Watford at Vicarage Road, where Man United will attempt to bounce back from their derby defeat to Manchester City.
