Sir Alex Ferguson could reportedly drop Robin van Persie and Shinji Kagawa from his lineup when Manchester United face Wigan Athletic on Saturday.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly considering whether to drop Robin van Persie and Shinji Kagawa from the Red Devils' clash with Wigan Athletic.

Former Arsenal hitman Van Persie is a doubt for this Saturday's Premier League encounter after suffering a thigh injury on international duty with the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, new United midfielder Kagawa picked up a back strain during a training session with the Japan national side earlier this week.

It is believed that Scottish boss Ferguson is deliberating on whether to leave the duo out of his squad in order to get them fit and ready for their Champions League match against Galatasaray next Wednesday, according to The Express.

Meanwhile, the former Premier League champions are still without striker Wayne Rooney, who is recovering from a thigh injury.
