Juan Mata: 'No problem between Louis van Gaal, David de Gea'

Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata says that he does not believe there will be any problem between manager Louis van Gaal and goalkeeper David de Gea.

Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has suggested that there will not be any problem between David de Gea and manager Louis van Gaal.

De Gea was all set to leave United for Real Madrid on Spanish transfer deadline day, only for the deal to fall through in the closing moments.

Madrid decided not to appeal to La Liga in the wake of the collapse, and Mata has since insisted that there will be no issue with Van Gaal, the club or United's fans surrounding De Gea's place at Old Trafford.

"I've talked with him a lot. There have been hectic and stressful days but he is such a quiet, centred person, nothing changes," Mata told reporters.

"The last two years David has been the best player in our team. His saves have earned us a lot of points. I have no doubt this will be a very good year, too.

"I don't think there'll be a problem with the club, the coach or the fans. That's what I perceive. The fans love him very much, he's highly regarded by the club and the coach."

De Gea has been included in United's squad for the group stages of the Champions League.
